Under the supervision of Dr. Ankhi Banerjee

Urban Morphology: An integrated Approach towards Dynamic Urban Futures

Urban Morphology is a process that assesses the morphing built environment either qualitatively or quantitatively. The scale of analysis depends on the need and aim of the research conducted. Previous studies have configured evidence that morphological studies on the urban form  (or shape of the cities) have found a critical impact on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The urban form also significantly impacts sustainability's social, economic, and environmental aspects. Therefore, urban morphology constitutes the roots of urban sustainability and thorough assessment of urban form (Bourdic et al., 2012).
